Telephoners

The Telephoners Scientific Club operates at the Institute of Telecommunications at the Faculty of Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunications (CET). It gathers students from both the Faculty of CET and beyond. Telephoners exchange knowledge from various fields and carry out various scientific and hobby projects. Students collectively create opportunities to develop their own interests and undertake unique projects that often extend far beyond the curriculum. The Club's task is also to facilitate networking with people who share similar interests, provide support and equipment resources, and create opportunities for presentation during sessions and scientific conferences. Within small teams, projects related to fields such as telecommunications, information and communications technology, cybersecurity, electronics, and computer science are implemented. The objectives of the projects vary; some are purely cognitive, while others culminate in the construction of a prototype device. Acting individually, Telephoners aim to develop their passion and unleash their own talent to establish a thriving company in the future or pursue a career in research. The aim of regular meetings of Telephoners students is to provide mutual, substantive support in the implementation of ongoing projects. During such meetings, progress of the work is presented, and an analysis of the results is conducted. The Club collaborates with many IT sector companies such as: Comarch, Ericsson, Nokia, Cisco, AWS, Nordic Semiconductor, and Samsung. Workshops, lectures, and training sessions are organized as part of the Club's activities. Telephoners Club has its own room equipped with equipment enabling the execution of various projects. In recent years, the Club has presented the highest number of papers at the AGH Scientific Clubs Conference. Over the years of its activity, members of the Club have repeatedly won awards and distinctions at the Sessions of Scientific Clubs and the Sessions of Laureates organized at the AGH University of Krakow, as well as twice at the International Student Scientific Session. Many former members of the Club are currently doctoral students or employees of the Institute of Telecommunications.
